Hitting the Bricks

Silk bricks, that is:
silk bobbin and brick

One brick to one bobbin: three more to go. These bobbins are big enough to hold the whole brick (usually about 4 to 5 ounces). Nice!

I have been cross-training with some spindle spinning:
wensleydale yarns
This is some Wensleydale for knotted pile, and this:
wool on spindles
is some generic wool, for knitting.

Meanwhile, Alfalfa rides again:
Marin (1)
Thanks to Marcy for the Alfalfa reference, and if you get it, it's a sure indicator of your age.....:)!

Yes, I grok the reference but I sure don't want to admit that I'm old! Love that silk brick. I've got a kilo of roving that I'm looking forward to trying.

I remember Alfalfa from re-runs when I was a kid (that still makes me older than I want to be :)
And you are my spinning hero. Just so you know.

Yeah I got it, darn it. She's much cuter than that however.

You and your matched spindles - I can't decide if I'm jealous. I'm still working off drinking straws. Maybe new spindles??? You know, anticipation is underrated.

Sara-
I have returned to this post numerous times. And I finally figured out why. Do they get any cuter, more animated than this?

I am after all the Grammie of four lovely, beautiful, intelligent, well,er you get it, granddaughters.

But damn lady this child is amazing! Did I mention possible commercial contracts in her future?

You know supporting her Grammie Sara in the style she would like to be accustomed to? Things such as unlimited fiber, dye, wheels, looms?

Once again damn she is cute!

Hee. We old folks have to stick together.

Hey, have I ever told you that whenever I see your paired spindles I think of duelling pistols? Duelling spindles! Sounds like it might be a good SOAR activity. :D
